How-To Video: Stamped Backgrounds
Morning!
Over on the Hero Arts blog, I posted two videos today. (Can you saw overachiever? Ha! No... I just am having fun with iMovie. Very addictive.)
But I couldn't leave all you scrapbookers out, so I decided to do a page using a combination of the simple background techniques I did on the Hero Arts blog today: spotlighting, glittering and chalking. Nothing remarkable here... just playing around. I normally wouldn't have put all these techniques together, so it was a fun challenge. The video isn't the best, but I wanted to do something quickly. (Forgive my stumbling on words... it is getting late. :)
Supplies:
Hero Arts stamps (backgrounds of butterfly, flourish and flower)
Versamark Ink (for chalking)
Green Memories Ink
American Crafts Thickers (I have a serious addiction...)
Pebbles chalk (love the colors they have)
Bazzill Smoothies Cardstock (a must for stamping... love 'em)
Other: String (again inspired by the amazing Robyn) and pop dots
As for the chalking I did there on the little squares, HERE is a good example of a card using that background technique. You would be amazed how fast it is to do. Sally is the master of fast card-making-masterpieces. :)
Thanks for stopping by. I have another video ready to load soon (and a giveaway!). See ya...

I love the way you've combined all the techniques...the details are fabulous!
The design blocks have moved straight to the top of my wish list verrrry rapidly thanks to you! ;) In the video you mentioned the string for a buck...are you able to share where you buy it? Will it help if I beg?...because I'm not above that. ;) Thanks for another great video Jennifer!

Hi Jennifer! I love seeing the scrapbook pages you make and you have such an adorable subject to work with. There is a couple of techniques I am going to try now. I have a Zig glue pen and so I am going to get that bad boy out and start putting glitter on my pages with it. I love that. Also, I have never tried chalking over versamark ink, and it looks so cool that I will be trying that as well. Loving the videos!!!

Hi Jennifer,
I love your site! Especially the videos, I am a visual person so the videos are big plus for me.
And your brother-in-laws music. I don't know how to e-mail you sidebar. I'm also interested in where got the twine you've used in several cards.

This is such an awesome layout!!! I love how you made the 4 panels, and then put the kraft paper over - and spread your photos across the kraft panel instead of just inside!
OK.. I am very impressed that you can cut out the butterflies with those honkin' big scissors!!!!

What an adorable layout! I love how you combined all those techniques. I started off as a scrapbooker, but seem to be making more cards lately--thanks to your inspiration. Don't quite have as many stamps to play with, but I'm working on that part. :) Thanks for sharing ideas for both cards and scrapbooking!

Can I just say that I like your hair shorter? It looks fresh and fun and doesn't weigh down so much. Love the bob! The pic on the HA blog with that cool heart necklace is very flattering. OK, back to business...the cards and pages are super cute. I always learn so much from your videos.
