How-To Video: Pigment Powders

Hello, all.

I have a video today!  It is on using pigment powders.  I used Perfect Pearls from Ranger... you can find out more about them HERE and HERE.  They look so cool in real life - I wish the photographs and video showed how it truly looks.  They add a wonderful shine.... and are inexpensive! :)

Oh!  And this is new!  If you want to watch the video in higher res, try watching it HERE.  Please let me know if it works for you.  It will take a bit more time to load but should look a ton better.

Red Chalk Ink from Colorbox
VIP font from myfonts.com

Other: Red string, Prismacolor Fixative for Chalks and Pastels

A big thanks to Melissa Deakin for letting me "lift" her layout that was in the new CK.  It had a bunch of fun circles on a white background - hers was so fabulous!  You can see Melissa's fabulous work and photos HERE.  Thanks, girl!

And here is a card showing Perfect Pearls.  It is on a vellum card with the front embossed by the Cuttlebug.  Also, I did a raised frame on the green as shown on this video HERE.

Oh, and I used Versamark with them, but you can instead use Perfect Medium from Ranger.  It does work better with the powder.

I just purchased 2 of the colors of Perfect Pearls recently but haven't used them yet. I love the super shimmery look of these. I'll have to try these techniques! thanks for another great video!

I've never tried Perfect Pearls because I didn't know what to do with them. Now I know. :) The layout and card are absolutely gorgeous! BTW, I was able to view the high quality video...it looks fantastic! It did take about 20 minutes to load with my high speed connection. But my computer has been acting wonky so it could just be that...;)

Oooh - shimmery gorgeousness! I have some perfect pearls & haven't used them for ages...you've inspired me to go dig them out again this weekend. Might have to go looking for a decent fixative though (last time I used them my Mum was staying with us so I just used her hairspray! Probably not the best long term option!).

Hi there, the high speed link didn't work for me it says it is temporialy unavialable. Watched the video and realised I have something like that and haven't used them for ages, just need a proper fixative though, something else to add to my list. Love your page as always it is simply beautiful.

BTW, Is it necessary to use a fixative if I stamp my image with a glue pad, like Tsukineko's?

Doesn't the Perfect Pearls already have a fixative mixed in? I thought that was the main difference between them and Pearl Ex powders.
