    July 2008

    I am here...

    Sorry for not posting.

Have you ever had one of those weeks/months where you feel like your life is running about 12 miles ahead of you and you can't catch up?  Yep.  One of those. :)

But I am now at my stamping retreat with Jana.  Tomorrow, all my neighbor girls will arrive for the weekend.  Such fun.  Will get lots of work done and have some laughs.  And maybe a nap!  I do work the whole time I am here, but someday I hope to just come and scrapbook.  Someday.  :)

Quick share from awhile back.  Did a bit of flocking in the center of that flower.  Doesn't look good in the photo.

    Clear
    Supplies:
Hero Arts stamps (flower, blue background, circles on clear, greeting), pearls and clear card
White Staz-On Ink (on clear card)
Chalk Ink and more Chalk Ink
    Doodlebug Flocking Stuff.
    Black Memories Ink

Have a good night.  Will be back soon!

Oh... and I am a bit behind on things.  I owe answers to questions and emails... and I haven't been able to add names to the Card Drive list in a few days.  Will do on Monday.  SO MANY cards are coming in - thank you!  Remember, the drive was extended until the 15th.  Thank you!

    FREE Class is up!

    Hi!

My Stamping on Transparencies class is now up on 2peas.  You can find the project, handouts and video HERE and the message board discussion HERE.  And!  There is a challenge with great prizes HERE.

    Clear Stamping Close
(To see the whole project, visit twopeasinabucket.com HERE.)

    Hope you can stop by!

    So excited... and other things...

    Hey!

Warning: This next paragraph is non-stamping related.  Feel free to skip it. :)

Well, most of you got it right!  I went to the Jonas Brothers concert.  Actually, I surprised the girls and our neighbor girl (who babysits and helps me with work such as kitting).  They were thrilled.  Kay and Audrey had never been to a concert, so I made the night the best I could.  After picking them up from horse camp, I told them to put on their Nick and Joe shirts and to get ready.  And me?  I made a shirt to wear to the show.  It said "Nick and Joe's future mother-in-law."  Hee.  They thought that was SO cool.  Kay told me a million times how much she loved having me wear that and that I danced and sang along with them at the concert.  We had SUCH fun.  Kay held my hand all night or had her arm in mine through the whole show.  It just rocked.  And I have to say, those Jonas Brothers really put on a GREAT show.  Honestly.  And, for the evening, I pretended to be 13 and have to admit that that Joe dude is a doll. He has been working out lately.  Hee. Anyway... love those girls and love trying to be a good mum and loved the show.

So... I need to pick a winner!  And the lucky person is Ashley M!  I will email you.  And, by the way, you should all go see Ashley's great blog.  I just checked it out and she is SO very talented!!!  You can find it HERE.

OK, now... on to something stamping related.  I am so excited to announce that I will be hosting a class over at twopeasinabucket.com starting TOMORROW on Stamping on Transparencies!  I hope that some of you can stop by and play... I don't want to be talking to myself and be a big loser... hee. :)  It is a week long with three parts to it.  Each part will have its own video, pdf handout and examples.  So please be sure to stop by the Education Board on 2peas tomorrow.  If you want a sneak peek at the first project, go HERE and watch the rotation in the middle - you will see another image promoting it. Should be fun!

OK... off to bed.  Still tired from all the fun last night!

Just a quick post before I head out on my adventure... :)

Be sure to check out 2peas... they have 20% off the WHOLE store!  Woohoo.  Happy shopping!  More tomorrow.

    Share, a laugh and giveaway...

Good morning!  Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Just have a quick share, a cool link and a giveaway.  First?  The share. This is one from a year or so ago - done for Autumn Leaves.  It was at the beginning of my obsession of using lots of mini photos on a layout. ;)

    Jennifer.FoofalaPlay.Play
As seen on creativityinc.com for Autumn Leaves

Next, the link.  If any of you are font freaks like me, you have got to watch THIS.  Cool Cathy posted the funniest video I seen in a long time... about fonts.  So funny!

OK... now for the giveaway!  How about a whole set of alphabet chipboard letters?  There are 3 in each pack and the letters are huge.  :)

To win, leave a comment guessing the answer to this question: "What cool thing will this Mum be doing tomorrow night in Cincinnati?"  Of all the people who guess correctly what I will be doing tomorrow night, I will pick a winner. Just leave your guess as a comment on this post by 7/28 at 11:59pmPST.  Good luck! :)

There are little angels out there...

    Wow.

This Card Drive is reminding me of all the little angels out there.  And how good this industry is.

Got an email from my dear friend, Nichol Magouirk.  She said she wanted to donate two prizes to the Card Drive. And they aren't just little ol' prizes.  Get this:

Prize 14: Handmade Bag made by Nichol Magouirk.  She made me one of these for my birthday and it is the BEST.  I used it everyday when we went to the beach in St. John.  Lots of pockets and oh-so cute. :)

    Back with more tonight...

    Happiness from CHA

    Hi!

Just thought I would share some of the fab stuff from CHA.  I didn't get to get out and about much - I tend to hang out in the Hero Arts booth a lot doing demos and I had a TON of meetings this time.  But of the little I did see, here are my favorites, in no particular order...

    1. October Afternoon - Oh. My. Goodness.  I cannot tell you how much I love this line.  They have the most amazing papers and such.  Amazing.  Perfectly perfect.  I can't way to play with it all!  Truly my favorite product line right now.  (You can buy the recent collections HERE.  The pack HERE is my favorite!)

    Hometownsneakpeak

    2. Bazzill Dotted Swiss Cardstock - Prayers answered.  Honestly.  I have wanted to have a paper like this for so long!  Ask Jana - it is my dream come true.  It is like the Cuttlebug Swiss dots, but on a whole 12x12 sheet!  It will be the same cost as their regular textured cardstock.  I am in heaven.

    3. Doodlebug - They have some yummy dotted flocked paper. So gonna be hoarding that.  No images - their website isn't working.  But I promise it is lovely...

    4. Hero Arts - Well, I may be a bit biased, but how can you not love this? :)

    111

    5. Bo Bunny - You all know I am so very addicted to their dotted paper.  And now they have even more colors?  Oh dear - I will be buying a ton.  Here are just a few of the rich colors...

    2

    6. Ranger Stickles - You know I love these - so easy to use.  Now they come in the gorgeous Distress Ink colors.  Ooooooo... so pretty. They aren't really glittery, but instead like a colored, pearly sugar.  Sweet.

    Lgpics_designerstickles

    7. Collage Press - Although I didn't see their booth, I just checked out their website since I knew I would love any new release they would have. And, I was right - it rocks.  You can see it HERE.  If you are in front of my in a store when I first see this, please step aside.  Hee.  This may be tied with October Afternoon for me!

    Summer_08_p4_2

    8. Basic Grey - I have always been one of those who buys BG, but freezes when it comes to using it.  (I am not great at working with distressed papers, but I LOVE them.)  So, I was so very happy to see these new papers from BG.  Cannot wait to get my hands on it all, especially the Urban Prairie!

    URP_1315-Weather-Vane

    9. Melissa Frances - They had the coolest altered bra display in their booth to support the battle against breast cancer.  Wow.  Love their rub-ons and Little Boy Blue line.  (You can see the bras, new lines and such HERE.)

    10. K&Company Amy Butler - Check out these butterfly die cuts!  Yummmm...

    22

10-and-a-half. Stampin' Up Border Punch - This isn't really from CHA, but it is coming out soon and I can't wait to get my paws on it!

    6a00e54ef2e299883300e553b95fd48834-500wi

I know there were a lot more fabulous goodies out there, but I didn't get to look much.  If you saw or heard of anything else great, let me know!

A few people asked for me to share some samples I made for CHA.  However, I didn't really do any this time except for Hero Arts.  (I really only work for them now.)  But I can share some of those soon.  And how about one while you wait?  This uses new holiday images...

Oh... and I updated the Card Drive list.  You all rock!

Off to work on my article.  Night!

    More on Scrapfest...

    Hi!

A bit more info on Scrapfest...

Hero Arts will be teaching 2 classes.  I will be leading this one...

    Clear Cute Photo Tag Book

And Shari will be leading this one, with me in there, too...

    Wintery Wishes

If you have never taken a class from Shari - she is amazing.  She is the best teacher I have ever seen in this industry.  You can find her blog HERE... she is so very talented.  She has a great video on gamsol up on her blog now.

I highly recommend signing up early - the Hero Arts classes always fill up quick.  And, we don't do big classes, so spots are limited anyway.

Hope to see some of you there!
