    Happy Halloween!

    Hi, stampers.

Just wanted to share a Halloween card to wish you all a great day...

    Halloween
    Supplies:
Studio G stamps for grass and pumpkins (thanks again Michelle!)
    Hero Arts greeting
    Bazzill Cardstock
    Colored pencils and gamsol
    Cuttlebug embossed Swiss Dots
Diamond Stickles (put on the embossed dots)

Also, wanted to give you a quick heads up for a great chance at 3 giveaways on Hero's blog HERE today.  Lots of card ideas, too.

    Will be back later.  Smooch!

    Stamp Camp Faux Metal

    Hi!

You still have time to enter for the stamp in my post earlier today.  Just click HERE.

But I wanted to share this card.  I did it for 2peas Stamp Camp... Kristina Werner's faux metal class.  To make this metal accent, I covered a chipboard flower with Versamark.  I then added silver embossing powder - 5 layers.  After the last layer and while it is still hot, I pressed a Versamarked flower image in the powder and let it cool.  Here is the result...

    Metal
    Supplies:
Papertrey Ink stamps (background and greeting)
    BasicGrey Sultry 6x6 papers
BasicGrey chipboard flower (from Urban Prairie line)
    Silver embossing powder
    Versamark
    Silk ribbon and brad

I also did a video on faux metal several weeks ago.  You can see it HERE.

Have a great night!  See you tomorrow.

    Happy Birthday... and giveaway

... to my dear Dad.  I hate that you are sick with what Colin had.  But I hoped you enjoyed the breakfast birthday cake we made for you.  I love you - you are the best.  Colin insisted on me using the pumpkin stamps since you two like to carve together.

    Dad
    Supplies:
    Papertrey Ink birthday greeting stamp
Studio G pumpkin stamps (thank you to you-know-who!)
    Doodlebug glitter border sticker
    Handmade candles

Now... how about a giveaway?  I have an extra of this stamp set.  Interested in having it?  Just leave a comment on this post by Saturday at 11:59pmEDT with a birthday greeting for my dad.  (I want him feeling better fast!)  I will then pick a random winner on Sunday.

    More later.  Take care!

How-To Video: Card with Pop-Up Gift Card

    Hello.

Have a video today to share.  It is over on the Hero Arts blog HERE.  You can get more info there.  (Also, there is a great scrapbook page by Leslie Lightfoot, too.)  Here is the video...

I'll be back tomorrow with some fun new things to share.  And I have a stamp set I am dying to give away.  :)

Now... Dancing With the Stars.  Not sure on this one.  Warren is a hoot, isn't he?  I like too many people this time.  Hmm... this is more interesting to me then politics.  Just kidding...

    Back home...

My crazy family of five spent a long weekend together in Texas, along with my in-laws.  Was so wonderful, so much fun... but it is good to be home to rest.

Just wanted to share that I am hosting the Hero Arts blog this week if you haven't been over there.  It is all about mini cards and such - very fun.  Click HERE to check it out.  One thing I am loving about this week: I have lots of great artists contributing.  Thought that would be more fun. :)  Here is a peek at one of my projects there...

Another thing: 2Peas is having Stamp Camp for the next few weeks.  It started this week with a great video and projects from Kristina Werner.  Check it out HERE.  I will be a part of this camp, so I hope you keep checking it out.

Watching a tivo of Sunday's Desperate Housewives.  I have to say - this was the best episode yet.  Finally is getting good!

    Night.

Scans sometimes just don't cut it...

    Hi!

I had a request to share this page - it was in the recent CK.  It features my dear Jana.  Love that girl.

The shapes were die cut from fabric and frayed a bit.  Love fabric on pages.  A great way for texture without bulk.  If you are looking for a great mix of little pieces of fabric, try etsy.com. :)

Have a great weekend.  I gotta run... hugs all around!

    Please...

    ... I beg you.

Go watch the three videos on this blog.

I don't know Stephanie well.  But I have talked and worked with her a bit on email.  And even from this bit of communication, one thing is clear to me: I admire her incredibly.

I couldn't imagine what she is going through.  Having her husband so far away fighting in a war.  Wow.  My prayers and hugs go out to her and others.

(As you watch the videos, the handsome guy named James Howell is her husband. :)

If you are looking for a way to support our troops (whether or not you agree with the war), check out Cards For Heroes.  I am doing a lot for them and really appreciate all they do.

OK... I just felt a need to pass that on.  Hugs!

    Video and such

    Hi!

A few people have asked how to create the funky folded card design that I use a lot.  Here is a video that Sally and I did awhile back.  Excuse the pajamas. :)

And here is another card with that design.  I may have shared it before - sorry - but it is a good example of the fun you can have with this fold.  I think Sally was the originator of the fold, but not sure.

    Have a good weekend!

    Enabling, anyone?

Hello, all.  Hope everyone is good.

I am here with one big purpose.

    I am here to enable.

Yes.  I am speaking to you.  All you cardmakers out there.

You must go buy these.  You must.

    6x6 BasicGrey paper pads.

They currently have a permanent spot within arm's reach on my counter.  I lovey them.  I do believe they are my bestest friends at the moment.

In the past, I have had a hard time using BG papers.  I buy them.  I hoard them.  I love them.  But when it comes to papers with distress, I simply freeze.  I don't know how to use them, as much as I love them.  Ask Jana - this is the truth.

But then, I met Mr. 6x6 Paper Pads.  These have BG's fab patterns on a smaller scale.  And they are so easy to use.  They are incredible.

    My faves?  Here they are...

    67199  67055  67127

Bonus: many of them are 20% off at 2peas right now!  Woohoo.  Click on them to be linked.

Here is a card I did today using some of the BG goodness.  It was inspired by THIS card by Renee Camacho.

    Basic Grey
    Supplies:
    Basic Grey 6x6 paper pad
    Basic Grey chipboard
    Hero Arts buttons and notecard
    Cuttlebug
    Stampin' Up label punch
    Pop dots
Papertrey Ink alphabet stamps (LOVE these!)

And if you don't buy them because they are so gorgeous, buy them because Kelly Goree works for BG.  She is the sweetest thing.  A gem.

I almost forgot to post the winner of the Studio Calico stamp.  It's Ally!  I will email you. :)

OK... off to watch Grey's Anatomy.  Hoping that the season starts to get better.  Oh, and if Obama or McCain or Sarah call one more time, I may lose my mind.  I currently am not loving living in Ohio.  Ha.

    NIght!

    Gift Card Card

A card that holds a gift card.  Would that be called a Gift Card Card?  Not sure what to call it, but I love to make them.

Basically, the gift card slides between that blue piece and the white piece.  The only thing holding these pieces together is the sewing at the top and bottom.  Another tip: I used pop dots under the clear tag for a shadow-box look... just some fun dimension.

    Sue Card 3 copy

    Supplies:
Hero Arts stamps (circle, background), clear tags, snowflake brad, gems
White Memories Ink (doesn't that look cool on the navy notecard?)
    Black Memories Ink
    Paper Shaper punches (1" and 1 3/4")
    Creative Impressions Silk Ribbon

I am loving this set these days.  Hoping to use it for making all my gift tags for under the tree.  Hoping. :)
