My new obsession...

Ask Jana - my newest obsession is a shocker.

Up until recently, I would buy BasicGrey.  I just LOVE the patterns and colors.  But then when I would go to use it, I would freeze.  I think it was the distressed edges?  Not sure.  But I couldn't use it.  I would just collect the paper.

And now?  I can't stop using it.  I am considering marrying all the 6x6 Basic Grey paper packs.  They are delicious.  I think Ken would understand, huh?

Truly.  A cardmaker's dream.  I also like the 12x12 paper packs.  And they come with a cover page in the pack with little swatches of all the papers inside.  And it is so pretty, I couldn't bear to throw it out.  Come on, look at it.  Could you throw this away?

So, yes, the hoarder in me cut up this packaging and made cards from it.  I just punched shapes and went to town.  Here is what I ended up with... (Sorry the pictures are drabby - I don't know what I did!)

Basic Grey 12x12 Urban Prairie paper pack packaging
New Hero Arts All Occassion Messages

New Hero Arts Patterned Hearts
Hero Arts Notecards
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder
Ranger Stickles (new from Hero - GW216)
Fiskars heart punch
EK Success Paper Shaper circle punch (my fave)

What is your current crafting obsession?  Please tell me I am not the only one who gets these... :)

Oh my... and the Bachelor starts tomorrow night with the handsome Jason.  And the girls look crazy - should result in some fabulous mindless tv!  Woohoo! :)

I love BG and you did an awesome job on the cards how cleaver

I too cut up the cover for MORE PAPER! Love the 6x6 packs-they are perfect for card makers.

I love these cards, nice way to use up some scraps!

i'm the same way with my BG ... collect it, but never seem to use it! love all the cards ... so pretty on the swiss dotted white cards!

LOVE it!!! I was wondering how the cover page could be used also from those BG papers. LOVE your blog, you are VERY inspiring!

I adore these cards. I would never have thought to do that, but I too hoard my BG papers...Am beginning to use them a little more. But.....

I love your cards Jennifer! Everything stamping related is my obsession. But I recently bought Claudine Hellmuth's Studio Paints and have been playing with them a little. I love them! But I also love Copics and Prismacolor pencils! I use both - lay down a Copic layer and then shade over that with my Prismacolor pencils. I do have a blog.

Those cards are gorgeous! I too hoard BG papers and don't throw out the cover page! But at least you did something with it..! Thanks for the inspiration!

(My current obsession is Copics markers - can't seem to have enough colours...).

Gorgeous cards!

My current obsession is orange. No particular product. I'm just in love with the color orange.

Those cards are lovely! I'm like you, I can never throw away the cover/index pages. Although I've never known what to do with them. Thanks for the idea!

I love your cards! They are always so gorgeous! I too punch shapes from the packaging!

I have been collecting Cuttle Bug embossing folders and Hero Arts Stamps.

You amaze me, I would have never thought to use the cover paper to make a card. However, it makes perfect since and goodness how it makes the cutest cards.

Enjoy your vacation! I will be thinking of you on the beach, touching the waves and soaking up the sun:)

I love all paper, but I also have a thing for Basic Grey, and you have fanned the flame even more so with these fabulous cards! WOW!! I actually gasped when I opened my email! Love all your stuff, but these take my breath away!

WOW! Gorgeous!!!

I love these simple cards. I'm in love with SU's designer papers... most because it is hard for me to get stamping supplies here and I love having everything that matches! I'm a little obsessed about having brads, eyelets, ribbon, ink, card stock etc. in all the colours. But, I am not hoarder... though I was a little sad today when I realized I'm pretty well out of Rainbow Sherbet Designer Series Paper.

OH FUN! I'm a hoarder of Cosmo Cricket Paper, so I understand!

Must be a card maker thing...I do this too! I have the used the little squares for paper piecing smallish items...used it for a buggy on a baby card a few times. The cool thing about these tiny pieces of goodness is they contain the beautiful full sized pattern....just squished into a smaller space. I think hoarding (sometimes) can be a good thing...really. :) Cute cards & I'm vegging out in front of the tv tomorrow night. Woo hoo!

Jennifer, you are definitely not alone in collecting those 6x6 BG paper packs, I am just as guilty of that. But how could someone resist those yummy papers and the 6x6 size is just perfect for cards. I love the cards you created with them...Just gorgeous!!!

Beautiful cards, Jennifer. I am also obsessed with hoarding Basic Grey. I can't wait to put my punches to good use by casing your cards! As for my other obsessions...this past week it's been checking out the clearance bins in Michael's, Walmart, Target, etc.

What a great obsession to have! I especially love the 2nd card. The BG papers and the Hero Arts heart stamp are paired perfectly together!

freaking perfect!!! oh gosh. i love them. you have me hooked on that dotty paper now as well.
also LOVED your xmas card this year. it turned out soo lovely!!!

Love the cards. My current obsession is using the Cuttlebug embossing folder - which I see you also used on a few cards. There's just something about having some cool texture on the card front.

My other obsession right now is Project 365. This is the Jan KOTM by Becky Higgins. I'm so excited because my husband and I are doing it together. I'm usually off on my own creating layouts and cards, but now my hubby is very involved with taking photos each day and also helping with the journaling!

I LOVE almost ALL BG products.I have a huge collection because I love them so much, just can't bear to use them up. Your designs are so beautiful I just might be using them after all. I really love these ideas. Thank you.

what a fabulous idea, and the results are stunning!!!

(What about an article for your supply series at CK: "Packages"...? It's very "green")

these are beautiful, Jennifer!! I, too, cannot wait for the Bachelor!

Love the cards! Can't wait for the Batchelor to start either...I wanted Jason to get the last rose last time so badly, but I'm glad he didn't because that Deanna girl didn't turn out to be such a great gal after least not for someone as Jason...OHHH I'm not missing ONE episode of this one! LOL

How cute are those cards?! Adorable!

My current new obsession is beading and making bracelets with different types of beads. So much fun and a great way to add to one's accessories! ;)

what great ideas for using up some of the little pieces that are laying around. Love the cards. I can't figure out what my obsession is. Seems like I just get one thing done and another starts up. Mostly right now is trying to figure out where to put all the great things that I have so that I can use them the best.

I love Basic Grey too and buttons is my new obsession. I love collecting all different kinds.

Those cards are so so sweet! Luv em!
My obsession right now is PINK!

You are gorgeous! :O You made me love these papers too :-)))) Now I can understand your love ;-)

I am addicted to nestabilities!

Great idea to use the small pieces of Basic Grey. I've bought all the 6X6 packs and hate to use them because the color combinations are so awesome. Part of my New Year's resolution is to start using up all the paper I've collected and don't use because I love the colors. I have enough paper to start my own store! So my obsession is paper and ribbons. Now I feel better that I admitted it to the world.
Loved all your card samples. Again great ideas!

Love those cards! Never thought to use the packaging. You are so clever! Thanks for sharing all of your great ideas.

And yes, I too love BG and the 6x6 pads AND the Bachelor.

My obsession has to be gemstones. I've been creating swirls and shapes and letters on pages with them. Also loving this new set all occasion from HA. I see you used it here. Great cards too. I hord crazy things like this too hoping to think of ways to use them.

that is a great idea!! i always think of ways to recycle and this is a good one, tfs :)

Since I bought my corner rounder I use it for everything. It just seems to turn a boring card into an interesting one. Basic Grey papers and Hero stamps... well I've always been obsessed with these!

Oh, that's funny! I have thought about using the cover too! It's just so pretty to throw away. I had a hard time getting started with it to, but after I started it was all over with. I just got two more 6x6 packs yesterday:)

Gorgeous cards Jennifer.
I'm currently in love with any floral papers...can't get enough of them :)

I love how you use everything! No waste. I am really into that right now...stretching the product and being creative about using it. Love BG as well. Am a bit overhlemed by it too but enjoy the BG website gallery and all the Peas that post their awesome stuff!

My most recent obsession would have to be felt. Love it. Saw a felt basket online and have to make it. Got some of the SU brown felt ribbon and am even using that as a bookmark. Love it.

Great ideas Jen. No your not alone!
How can you not love those BG paper packs?
I'll be watching the Bachelor as well. He has the cutest son Tyler.

Aaaaw that is such a cute those cards. Have thought of doing the same but never got to it. Great job. BG does rock:-)

With little time and space I've had to let go of my hoarder instincts ( eg I now have more quilt fabric than I can EVER use, inc. the stuff I hand-dyed....!!) My latest obsession is the cutest tree stamps from "There She Goes" and my BRAND NEW CUTTLEBUG!!! I have that swiss dots folder !!!

That was such a big sacrifice on your part but they resulted in such great cards! Love all of them. Current obsession is ribbons. Can't come out of a store without buying some and using them in cards. I think it's called "ribbonitis"...

They are just sooo pretty!!

I also hoard the BG papers. I take them out every now and then and just sort of caress them, taking in all of their papery goodness. I also chop up the covers to make cards and glass-topped pendant necklaces. BG papers look great under glass. :)

current crafting obsession is bling swirls, omg, they are soooo fab!

YAY! The bachelor! :D Thank you SO much for telling me, i wouldnt wanna miss it!

Ken won't understand at all - but I do!!

Okay, i am copying your cards tonight! Except in the land of no scrapping supplies way over here in southeast Asia, i only have a 1" circle punch. Can't do the hearts... :(

And my latest crafting obsession has been drawing stylized trees! I have drawn about 50 of them to use on the front of cards...

then you showed the Scroll tree that Hero Arts has and I stopped drawing trees...because it is exactly what I was looking for ...

Love your stuff.

beautiful cards. My new obsession is the Martha Stewart Button punch....its so cute. Heres a card i did with it...

I love your cards. So simple but make that statement
