Coming back with a bang... and giveaways...

Hey, folks.

Sorry that I went MIA for a few days.  Just needed to take a break.  I finally got back to creating Saturday afternoon.  And it felt good.  So good.

So, now I am back with lots to share this week.  Projects.  Enabling.  Links.  Giveaways.  Let's get going...

First - someone asked for a closer look at the two layouts that were in the recent CK.  I don't have great photos, but maybe these will help.  (BTW, the recent issues of CK have rocked.  I tore out lots of ideas from the June issue!)

Layout 2 - Mat Photos - Blog(c) Creating Keepsakes - June issue

Layout 1 - Background of Trims - Spirits(c) Creating Keepsakes - June issue

Next up: Found some great shopping. How about a bit of enabling?

  • I am adding THIS to my scrapbook room door.
  • New Doodlebug.  I have always been a Doodlebug fan.  Their products always make me smile.  And better yet, the people who work there are true gems.  THESE are adorable.  They always use the best fonts, and THESE mini rub-ons are must-haves.  They come in lots of colors.
  • Ah... and step aside, Cuttlebug.  Quickutz has some rockin' embossing folders now HERE.  My favorite?  THIS 12" border.  Great for pages and cards.  (And, yes, you can use them with your Cuttlebug.)
  • Speaking of Quickutz, I am lovin' on THIS die set.
  • I really like papers that you can cut out lots of different borders from, etc.  THIS one from Cosmo Cricket - yum.
  • One of my favorite things to do in the evening is to search around on Etsy.  I fill up my cart...  dig through it... save many to favorites... and then buy nothing.  Ha.  Actually, I do buy there pretty often - I like the idea of supporting handmade.  I get lots of shirts for Colin there, jewelry for the girls and gifts for friends.  (And, if you Twitter, I often share links to my favorite finds there.)  Anyway, I just saw THESE and will be getting them for the girl's bedroom doors.  And it is always fun finding bargins like THIS.  Hee.  If you like jewelry, THIS is my favorite seller.  And THIS is my favorite necklace.

How about some links?  Here are some for ya from 2peas...

  • THIS page by Peg Manrique is fantastic.  Fun colors and such, but the focus stays on the photo.  Perfect.
  • Shannon Tidwell does such fun pages.  THIS one just made me smile.  The title and accents are perfect.
  • THIS is an AMAZING page by Kelly Purkey.  Fun in every way.  Boy, I sure wish I had access to her closet. :)
  • Moon Ko is so talented.  THIS is so classy.
  • Nichol Magouirk rocked this Garden.  Love THIS and THIS is the greatest page of all time.
  • It wouldn't be a new Garden without a page to love from Robyn.  THIS is fantastic.

HERE is a set of cards I did.  Super quick, thanks to the help of die cuts and fancy paper. :)

And, HERE are two more cards I did using Crackle Paint and Glimmer Mist.  A strange combo, but it looks cool in real life - the shimmer gets in the crackles and shines a ton.  Here is one of the cards...

Last but not least, how about a giveaway?  Or two?  I was going through my brads and realized I have too many to count.  I picked out the ones I could still use - and thanks to my dear neighbor girl, they are now sorted by color! But I still have lots I don't need - a HUGE pile.  It includes simple brads, fancy brads, mini brads, big brads, gem brads, fabric brads, etc.  I will divide them up into two bags for two lucky winners.  For a chance to win, just leave a comment here by Tuesday at 11:59pmEDT telling me your plans for the upcoming 3-day weekend.  (If you aren't in the States... the upcoming weekend. :)  Here is a peek at the brad goodness...

I think that is all for tonight - off to get some donations ready to be picked up tomorrow bright and early.  Thanks for stopping by... night. :)

Here in Chile most of us will have a 4-day weekend! :D I have planned to work on the many assignments I have due for school, and maybe working in a project or two! (hopefully)

Okay, now I simply MUST have that Tutti Frutti stuff from Doodlebug--too cute!

I'm a teacher, so I will be writing my final exams over the long weekend...and hopefully getting my craft on, too.

I am a single mom working full time and going to college, I just look forward to sleeping in past 6 am and catching up on house work...I know exciting lol :) I hope to work on some of my half finished albums, my next project is my moms old black and white photos. So much to little time.

I have a new nephew who was just adopted from Ethiopia, and we will be celebrating his 1st birthday this weekend. No other big plans. Thanks for the give-a-way.

Well it is not a long weekend in Australia, but seeing it is my Birthday on the Monday I am thinking I will turn it into one & go somewhere fun for a couple of days, Just have to convince hubby :-)

We are probably having a cookout at my dads house. :) Spending time with family. Which is so cool, as I haven't been able to do that in over 9 years! :D

Spring cleaning always gets my mojo running. I haven't got any plans for the 3 day weekend yet... hopefully I will get a chance to scrap a little..especially since the space is clean and I'm feeling crafty/scrappy again.

Very lovely layouts! We will be getting our screened porch ready for the season. Lots of pesky bugs here in Iowa!

The plans for this weekend include laundry, laundry and some more laundry. Oh, and I think I'll work on some ATC swaps I'm doing. :o)

shoot, you know what's sad??? We haven't even discussed what we're doing this weekend. I'm assuming that we'll grill out or something like that.

Lots of catching up with friends this coming weekend (not a long one here in NZ!). I have friends coming over for dinner & games or movies on Saturday evening and friends from out of town scheduled to pop in & say hi sometime on Saturday when they come down to pick up their new van. And thinking about dying my hair!?!

Hi - Lots of lovely creations on your blog today.. No long weekend this weekend coming for us New Zealanders - our next 3 day weekend is the 30th, 31st Mau and 1 June. so not too far away. Coming up this next weekend is moving all the furniture from our two upstairs bedrooms and lounge - downstairs so the carpet layers can come in and put down the new carpet.... something to look forward to.

I'm not good on traveling over Holidays so I think we will stick close to home (southern Utah). We have tickets to see Bette Middler in Las Vegas the 1st of June so that's on the countdown list. Would love a chance at the brads, and totally love the inspiration of your videos!!!!

Yard work, house work. Trying to simplify and let go of a lot of stuff (ie. daily trips to Goodwill!). Prepare for the end of school and then a beach trip, cooking on the grill lots.

The 25th is actually our anniversary - not sure what we are doing yet. Kids are still in shcool here in Ohio but the long weekend will be fun! A cookout sometime that weekend will be in the plans for sure!

We are heading to phoenix to see the chihuly exhibit. can't wait!

Soccer games and cook out with the inlaws, followed by an relaxing evening at the pool. Pure family time.

We are heading to Boulder so we can visit my brother and his family and so my husband can run the Bolder Boulder. A couple of long days in the car, but worth it!

The Husband is not feeling well, so we will rest and watch the rest of the world go roaring by. I missed touching base with your site. Glad you are back.

I'm so glad you're back to blogging! The butterfly cards are so pretty as are the scrap pages.

I don't think we're doing much this coming weekend. Actually, I think my hubby said something about getting his car serviced. LOL! Guess I'll be spending time at the dealership!

My daugher, Hannah, just had her golden 14th bday. Plus she is graduating from 8th grade. We are working on the details to spend the weekend in the windy city, Chicago. Great food, great museums, cool stores...what could be better?!

Will be envying your 3 day weekend. My 2 day weekend will be spent going to a video game symphony concert and shopping for dresses for my friend's wedding!

My 2 day weekend will be spent with the kids :). Taking them to their sports (soccer/rugby) and to see their cousins who are down from the north island this weekend (New Zealand)!! yea

Oh my word, I love that layout with all the ribbon! I may have to lift that beauty!!

For Memorial Day weekend, I will be participating in a blog hop for the myspace group I DT on, it will be lots of fun! I also plan on getting lots of scrapping done and some ATCs! No holiday plans for me, lol!

The layouts and cards are very pretty. I love the folded butterflies.

My plans are to relax and enjoy the extra day off.

Love that cute birdie card! We are having friends over for an afternoon play session and then dinner on Saturday. And Sunday is our day to just be the four of us!

I am just glad we will all be off from school and work and home. It has been a long time since everyone had a 3 day weekend so probably lots of BBQing and ice cream are in order ;)

In our area over the 3 day weekend, there is a Strawberry Festival. Lots of berries, BBQ, crafts, entertainment and usually, sunshine. Monday we will be having a potluck picnic at our local lake. We also make a trip to the cemetery to honor the veterans.

Hi Jennifer, welcome back, we missed you!
I totally forgot there was a three day weekend coming up. I imagine we'll do some grilling out and maybe watch a movie or two and spend some time with my girlie of 17 almost 18 months.

Thanks for the fun giveaway - lots of cute brads!

Those layouts are so unique! But, that bird card is the best! I am in Canada so it is our long weekend right now. Sadly, our day off tomorrow has a forecast of snow! Sigh! Only in Canada...

That is a crazy amount of brads! You almost sucked me in with your Etsy post, ecspecially the jewelery link, but I restrained myself!

I'm visiting my in laws. My nephew is joining Air Force so I'd like to see him before he goes to the boot camp.

Hi, i just started following your blog, yay for giveaways! This weekend i'm going to the brand new ikea that opened up in my area. It might take the whole weekend to get through that place! Thanks for a great blog!
