Cards for Heroes

Hey there.

You all might know that I am a big fan of Cards for Heroes, a group that sends handmade cards over to our troops, so they can send them home to their family.

Turns out that folks are trying to raise over 1000 cards for Cards for Heroes - love it!

And I have a challenge for you - create a card in 20-30 minutes, per our Hero Arts challenge this week.  Just be sure to use no glitter, as it messes with the night vision of our troops.

Once you have done your card, upload it to the ScrapStreet Cards for Heroes gallery.  Then you can mail your card(s) to the Cards for Heroes folks at:

        ScrapStreet

On Sunday, August 23rd, one randomly drawn participant will win a box from me - full of 300+ sheets of patterned paper!

Have fun... hope you can play along.

So glad you are joining us at Scrapstreet!! Thanks so much!!

Thank you so much for the Thinking Inking classes. Great videos and I have learned so much from you. I enjoyed every minute and can't wait to get started on so many different projects.

Hi Jennifer; thanks for spreading the word! Thought you'd want to know, the link to the Hero Arts site didn't work (for me anyway!);
Kathy

It is so funny that today you had an entry on Cards for Heroes. This Sunday is my very first Stamp A Stack; and the whole reason I organized it was to make Christmas cards for Cards for Heroes. I am a veteran (Air Force) and work at a VA clinic and have felt led to help in this small way to show our troops how loved and appreciated they are. Thanks for all you do!!

Hey, I'm from Brazil and I wanna know if I can send a Card too! E-mail me about the answer please!
Sorry about the english!

XOXO

Mah

yes, you are welcome to!

Just tried your Hero Arts Challenge link and it isn't working. Help!

Such a wonderful cause! Thanks so much for this.

What a great organization. I just posted a bunch of cards that I made for challenges and such! What a great way to see them used!

God bless you for posting this. My husband is in the US Air Force, and he deploys in 8 hours (not kidding!). He'll be gone for over 6 months. I'm hoping to get a ton of cards made for Cards for Heroes soon. Also a great idea is to make a bunch of Christmas cards that can be distributed to the men and women over there, at which point THEY can send them BACK to their family to wish them happy holidays...since some bases and posts have slim pickins'. :)
