    FAQ's

Just thought I would post some answers to frequently asked questions here.  I will update this often.

I am new to stamping.  What should I get?
First, just be prepared.  Stamping is extremely additive. :)  Second, get some good inks.  I did a list of my favorites HERE.  As for stamps, you can try wood mounted or clear.  Clear has many advantages that are helpful to new stampers.  For more information, I would check Hero Arts website HERE.

How do you create your videos?
Well... it took a lot of trial and error to get it just right.  I have it on a tri-pod that I have positioned over my head.  Tricky to do!  For these videos, I use a good Sony digital camera I got a few years ago.  And, of course, iMovie - I am addicted to it!

What music do you play in your videos?
That is my brother-in-law, Keith Chapman.  You can find out information about him and how to buy his CDs HERE.

Where can I take your classes?
I teach locally at Stamp Your Art Out in Cincinnati and Simply Scrapbooks in Dayton.  (If you are interested in classes, please feel free to contact them.  Stamp Your Art Out is Connie at 513.793.4558 and Simply Scrapbooks is Vicki at vcostello@fuse.net.)  I used to travel to teach at big scrapbooking events.  But in the past few years, I have cut back on working significantly, so I only travel to shows such as CHA and rep shows.  I do not travel to stores - it is so hard to say yes to some and no to others. :)

Where can I get Hero Arts stamps?
You can get Hero Arts stamps online at twopeasinabucket.com and also at stampintreasures.com (who happens to carry the complete Hero line).  You can also call and get personal service at two of my favorite stores, who are happy to ship anywhere: Stamp Your Art Out (Connie at 513.793.4558) and Stamper's Corner (Carol at 916.686.0651).  These are good stores with good people and great service.

    What adhesive do you use?
Kokuyo Permanent Dot 'N Roller adhesive.  I assure you that this is the best adhesive there is - I have tried them all.  Get THIS one and then get THESE refills.  This stuff is great.  It rubs away if you don't like where you put it.  It is easy to refill (just pop it in).  You only need a little to hold things in place.  (I put about 3/4" of an inch on each corner of a photo.)  And you can move things with it (you have seen that in my videos).  I just placed a mighty big order.

    What trimmer do you use?
I usually use THIS trimmer from Fiskars - the 12" Deluxe Portable Trimmer.   It is just quick and easy to use and the Triple Track blade system is pretty straight.  It comes in several colors, but I like the red. :)  Important: make sure you get the orange Triple Track refill blades for it.  I also have their rotary one that I use for kitting (bulk cutting), but I prefer this one for regular use.

What type of colored pencils do you use?
I use Prismacolor Colored Pencils.  You can see the specific brand HERE.  I love them - so high quality.  I caved in and bought all of the sets - they are worth it.
