Happy Valentine's Day!
I hope you all had a great day. Ken and I have never been big on Valentine's Day. But today was fun - we spent it with a friend's family. They have two kids that are older than Colin, but are SO good with him and he adores them. A good day. Anyone do anything special?
Here are the goodies Colin and I made for his classmates. The pictures aren't great. We made 25 for his classmates and they were simple to make. The black and white dotted packages are actually gift bags from Hobby Lobby - 10 for $1.99. In each bag are a pack of markers or paint ($.99) and 16 small coloring pages with a Valentine's theme. (I googled "Valentine coloring pages" and printed them on my computer - so easy and cheap! I kept the bag flat and folded it over and taped it on the back. So it looks like I wrapped them, but didn't. :) The hearts on it were cut from my Cricut (so fast and easy - Colin can do it) and I printed and punched the message on the small heart. He did the gluing with me and we were done!
And here are the teachers gifts. In it are some muffins, cookies and candies Colin and I made. The card is inside the bag.
Supplies:
Hobby Lobby Black and White dot bags - in the stationary section
Target Pink gift bags
Circut DoodleCharms
Roseart $.99 markers from Hobby Lobby
Coloring pages - printed at home from internet
Scenic Route red dotted paper
Fiskars Heart Punch
Papertrey Heart Prints stamps (on card)
Hero Arts notecard, pearls and glitter
And I have another show I must talk about - another mindless one. :) This one is Millionaire Matchmaker on Bravo. The gal who runs it is a riot and the rich men who come on the show are characters. Anyone else watch it?
OK... off to bed. So tired today! Have Heart Day! :)
What a great idea...isn't HL the best store for getting gift bags? I love their kids craft aisle too! TFS!!

I've seen that show a couple of times. She is spot on with her personality analysis. She cracks me up.

Jennifer, so cute! Great ideas for the markers and pages to color. (Wrapped so cleverly. Wish we had a Hobby Lobby here in SoCal.) Never would have thought of that..I always end up buying coloring books at the 99 cent store..thanks for the great idea. The teacher bags with goodies are so sweet.
Happy V-Day to you and Ken..hope you're canoodling! (What does that mean anyway?)

Happy V-Day! Thanks for sharing such cute and economical valentine's! Hubby and I were never really into Valentine's, either, and now we spend it celebrating my middle one's b-day since that's when she was born! So we celebrated her 3rd birthday today, with the usual big family party. We are WIPED OUT. haha! Have a great weekend!

What terrific Valentines! The ones for the teachers are just so sweet! My preschoolers gave me some terrific goodies yesterday... as a teacher, I can tell you how wonderful it feels to receive such heartfelt gifts. :)

Thank you for showing the polka dotted bags! I've been hunting for the right packaging for the candy buffet I'm doing at my black and white wedding reception, and I think these bags are just what I'm looking for!

Lovely ideas, Jennifer. Valentine's isn't such a big affair in the UK. As a general rule cards & presents are only exchanged between husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend or given in secret to someone you've got your eye on! So I only have to make one card for my husband - much easier than having to come up with all the ideas you guys in the States have to. :)

Those bags ROCK girl!!! and I thought I was the only one that watched Millionaire Matchmaker. I missed the launch for this season (Presidents day sales in the car business....leaves no time for anything) but will catch up on it very soon. :)

Gosh my daughter would've loved to be in Colin's class! Such a great idea for V-Day gifts. And - the teachers must've loved the goodies too! I've seen commercials for that show on Bravo (while I'm watching Top Chef!) - maybe I should DVR it to check it out. ;)

Great ideas! Next year, pick up the markers at the beginning of the school year and put them away...you can also do crayons for like 20cents! I do that each year for my students and at valentine's day I give them a new pack of crayons since it's about half way through the year.
