Video: New Distress Inks - Pearlized Paper... and GIVEAWAY!

Happy Sunday.  I have a video, cool deal and giveaway today.  First, the video...

I have been wanting to do something with this favorite photo of mine and decided it was time.  The project is very simple, but I figured I would film it so you could see all the new Distress Inks in action.  I used them all in here and they are delicious.  Truly.  (The video shows many other tips.)

020610 Grateful Frame 1
020610 Grateful Frame 3
Supplies: All 12 new Distress Inks - coming soon; Perfect Pearls Perfect Pearl color; Mini Mister; Silhouette (to cut title); Corner Chomper; Heart Punch from EK Success; Tombow Mono Dot Permanent Adhesive; EK Success 3-D Dots foam dots; Silhouette.

BTW, the punch in this video is wonderful - the little heart on the inside is just perfect.  (It seems to be hard to find, but it is in stock HERE.)

I also saw that the might Corner Chomper is in stock again HERE.  Yes, you do need to have this.  Trust me. :)

150565_1000x1000 I also have been getting lots of questions about the new adhesive I love.  Be very careful - many of the Tombow adhesives look alike and have similar names.  But there is only one perfect one.  :)  THIS is it.  (I show it in the video.)

Now... on to the cool offer and giveaway...

  6a00e550ccd8ce88340128775fadcc970c-800wi

The other day, I shared my very-loved personalized stamp for putting on the back of cards.  It turns out a few of you went over and ordered one of your own, so the seller, Karissa of Kiss and Tell Cards, contacted me.  Turns out she is a big sweetheart and is offering 10% off stamp orders through the end of February if you mention "Jennifer McGuire, Ink."   AND!  She said I could do a few giveaways.  WOOHOO!  So, I am going to do one today.  (Thanks, Karissa!  You know I will be ordering more. :)

So, for a chance to win a personalized stamp of your own, just leave a comment here by Wednesday at 11:59pmEST recommending something to me.  (Movies, product, blog... anything.)  I will then pick a winner who will get to choose from these stamp designs from Kiss and Tell Cards...

I will be giving a couple more of these stamps away in the next week.  I just love them.

Have a great day.

I have to agree with you about the Tombow adhesive and also, the Corner Chomper. These are two "must haves" for paper crafters. I just got done reading the book, The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks and it was soooo...good. Thanks for a chance to own an awesome stamp!

I have a couple recommendations...

Movie: If you haven't seen it yet, go see the "Blind Side". I haven't heard one person say they didn't LOVE it.
Book: The Middle Place. Great memoir.

Thanks for the giveaway! :)

I am not sure I can recomend anything you might already have...so how about Sprinkles cupcakes if you have one close by you...they are so wonderful! Have a great day!

I love that heart punch too!! It was one of the first things I bought when I started scrapbooking years ago. Love that you get two different sized hearts in one punch! I seem to use it every year! Love that! Thanks for the video! Great tips as usual!

I know you use a lot of tags, so my recommendation would be Tags made by The Paper Company. They come in a pack of 15 in white or cream, and different sizes too. They are great for distressing or even for use with Copics...very little bleeding!

Have a great day, Jennifer! And thank you for the chance to win!
Barb :)

Hi Jennifer,
I'm new to cardmaking so I can't really recommend anything to you but want you to know I have learned so much from the talented bloggers on the web like you.

Oooh they are fab and thanks for the chance of winning! :) I would recommend parcelling up all your stash and sending it my way as youre far too talented, oh ok thats not what you meant.....erm in that case then i would recommend not missing an episode of Brothers and Sisters - im completely lost with the new series!! EEK! lol

hugs
Debbie

I also have the Corner Chomper and have recently switched to the Tombow adhesive. And I received a Silhouette for Christmas, love it!! I do have a question regarding different paper/cardstock, what kind/bland do you use for stamping, markers, etc.? Thanks in advance.

Love what you have done with the picture ,that would be a great gift idea! Love your address/monogram stamp too! You are always so inspiring ( and enabling at the same time :D)

my daughter and i just read the book --A walk to remember.
i have seen Blind Side 4 times go see it if you haven't
i love Tombo Adhesive it's all i use
thanks for the chance to win

GREAT project and video! Thanks for sharing. Did you see this Tombow one? I have it with the dots and the refills last so much longer and the handle on it is great! I've had this one for about a year! It's the same adhesive just a larger roll. :) http://www.overstock.com/Crafts-Sewing/Mono-Permanent-Adhesive-Dots-Dispenser/3127829/product.html?cid=123620&fp=F&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=11255595

LOVE your project, Jennifer! Beautiful! Great to see all the new distress inks in action too.
Recommendations? Hmm... not sure what I can recommend. Oswald Chambers 'My Upmost for His Highest' is a good, challenging year long devotional book.

I came across a fun baking blog recently that I love. It is called bakerella.com She has a fun way of writing about a fun subject. I think her "pops" are the most adorable things (your son would love them!) Thanks for the opportunity to enter your contest.

You always rock my world with your creativity, Jennifer! My recommendation? Visit thepioneerwoman.com - she's is hilarious and has some really GREAT recipes as well. ENJOY!

thanks for all the cool stuff you always have on your blog, Jennifer. Look forward to it every day.

My husband and I are in the middle of reading Tom Dekker's The Circle series of books. They are fabulous!

Jennifer, I really like to watch your how to videos. You explain things so thoroughly. And your voice is so calm and soothing. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge! Have a good one!

Hi there Jennifer,
I would love to recommend my blog to you ;))
http://cutitupcreations.blogspot.com/
hope you have a wonderful day
wish me luck ;))

You are such a great inspiration Jennifer. I'd recommend the Bachelor for some mindless dishy tv while you are stamping but I think you already watch that! So I'm going to recommend the new show, Life Unexpected on the CW. So cute! A little Gilmore Girls like. My new favorite show!

I just went a pick up a few new colors of the distress inks and love them as I knew I would. Thanks for always sharing cool techniques with all of us.

My favorite tv shows are Castle and the Forgottens. Both are clean and have great stories. Thanks for the giveaway and for the great ideas on your blog.

Great tutorial and project!! I have just bought the Slice machine and I just LOVE it!! It is so user friendly and so much fun to use!! Thanks for all your tips!:)

Hi Jennifer! Thanks for the great give-a-ways! Always luv seeing all the new stuff you do on your blog! Keep up the good work!

Since I can't think of anything craftwise, I'll shout out the TV series "Castle". It's another cop show with a different slant. Castle is a successful mystery writer who does consulting work with a female detective. It doesn't hurt that he's very handsome. Thanks for the chance to win.

Love your videos. I always learn so much. I am excited about the new distress ink colors and cant't wait to get them. I think I heard your iphone on the video which was funny because I ran to look and see if it was my phone. lol.

I have been looking for a personalized stamp for some time now... and I LOVE the Baxter Family stamp! As for a recommendation, you had spoken about watching Dexter awhile ago... and I recently watched all of the seasons (actually I only have the season 4 finale to go!) -- but since that is winding down for me, I picked up "Darkly Dreaming Dexter" by Jeff Lindsay... which the series is based on. The first book is similar to the tv show, but the others are said to be different. I'm very interested in seeing a different take on my favorite serial killer & thought I'd pass it along to you too!

The address stamps are unique and I love you list of much needed supplies. Thanks for sharing.
Jennifer

I love all of these ideas! Thanks :)

You are the queen of cool tools, sweet friend! Such an enabler, too! Heehee! I must get one of those mats and tiny mister thingies! ;) LOVE that beautiful framed piece! Oh, and I need to get that heart punch, too! Ha! See - total enabler, but I love ya! ;) I love those personalized stamps, too! Thanks for the chance to win one! Let's see ... what can I recommend? Hmmm... have you seen this blog yet - http://thelongthread.com/. I love it! :-D Hugs!

Thanks for the cool video and the shopping enabling LOL .
If you have not seen the movie "Dear John", take a box of kleenex and go. I went to see it Sat. night with the girls from our chapter of Blue Star Mothers of America, NC Foothills Chapter and it was great. I cried during most of the movie but I am an emotional person and being the Mother of an American soldier that got a Dear John letter, it hit home ykwim? It was an awesome movie. So that is my recommendation! Have a great week!!!

Great video. Now I need all the new Distress colors. Saving my pennies.

My recommendation is a pack of newsprint (currently using Foray 12x18 size, found in any office supply store.) I use it under my Ranger craft sheet. It makes a great surface for stamping and super easy clean up, just tear off the sheet. I use it to stamp off residue, jot notes on about what I am doing if the phone rings or a child needs me or to sketch ideas. It keeps things neater and keeps me on track. Can't scrap without it.

I recommend "Sharp Objects" by Gillian Flynn. She's a fantastic writer.

Jennifer, thanks for another great video! I love some of the new ranger distress
ink colors. I just finished the book "The Help" and would recommend it to you;
it is very readable and engaging.

Love those stamps and I so need one! I'm tired of handwriting my info all the time. LOL Now, what could I recommend to you? How about a recipe? I tried this WW friendly recipe this weekend and my family loves it!

Chili Party Dip
15 oz canned turkey chili without beans
8 oz fat-free cream cheese
4 oz canned jalapeno peppers
1 small onion(s), finely chopped
1/2 tsp hot pepper sauce

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until cheese melts, about 10 minutes.

Great Video :) My Recommendation is the TV Serial 24...I just love it...Jack Bauer Rocks :D

Make the Pioneer Woman's cinnamon rolls... they are heavenly.... you will never buy store bought rolls again!

http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2007/06/cinammon_rolls_/

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm always looking for a good adhesive. The dot runner I buy at Walmart looks similar to that Tombow one, but it runs out SOOOO fast. I love the Tombow products. I'm wondering if you have ever used this glue pen: http://www.overstockdrugstore.com/products/Tombow-Glue-Pen-%252d-9-ml.html?prodid=11828&utm_source=GoogleBase&utm_medium=PE&utm_campaign=GoogleBase&cvsfa=1950&cvsfe=2&cvsfhu=3131383238
I haven't used it, but I know Tombow makes good products. It looks like it would be great for detailed projects.

Completely nonscrapbook related, I'm recommending the restaurant Macaroni Grill, which is my favorite Italian restaurant. We have it in NC but I don't know where else you can find it.

Jen, I am going to recommend some fantastic leisure reading to you--my all-time favorite novels...Jane Eyre (the BBC movie is excellent as well) and Pride and Prejudice. I am a 19th century English novel geek; it's how I unwind. Reading, for me, is like hanging out with old friends. I am so like my grandmother in that if we don't have a book to read we get a little twitchy. I am also a regular at the library (I read too much so Barnes and Noble gets expensive and I like to support the library [Yep. I always have fines]).So I recommend to you...read, read, READ!

I can't remember if you have talked about this before, or not.

It is so handy for adhering something intricate, or small. It is accurate, just like writing with a ball point pen. It works well with glitter and flocking too. It is just fun to pull it out and sign your name with, then pour on the glitter.

I can't wait to get my hands on the new Distress Inks! They are my favorite product! I recommend the blog of Julie Fei-Fan Balzer - http://www.balzerdesigns.typepad.com/. She has some really great techniques and I love her work! She uses Distress Inks and spray inks like Glimmer Mist and Adirondack Color Washes and many other mediums. Great blog!

Hi Jennifer-

Here is a movie recommendation for you. Go see "An Education". It is a love story, yet so much more. I downloaded the soundtrack while still in the movie... It is a fabulous movie. The lead actress, Carey Mulligan, has been nominated for an Oscar..she is a Katie Holmes look alike. This movie is total escapism at its best. Please do not miss this movie and let me know what you think!
Beth

I have just finished reading Water For Elephants - loved it! Thank you so much for your how-to videos - your blog is an endless source of inspiration for me! Thanks for the chance to win one of those pretty stamps!

Hi Jennifer - two things to recommend: The Movie Up in the Air with George Clooney. I wasn't sure I would like it, but so glad I went to see it. Great story, and a nice twist in the plot that I wasn't expecting.
Next, I just purchased from Memory Box their Gossamer paper line and used it to create my valentine day cards - very soft and "girlie" paper designs. Yummy!
Thanks for all the inspiration and videos!

Love your videos. I just found her blog http://gabriellepollacco.blogspot.com/ and her work is AMAZING!!! You may already know who she is but I just found her and I am so inspired :)

Great video,and beautiful layout.

I don't have anything to recommend, but I do want to thank you for the video.
I love all of them and I'm always waiting for another. I have learned so much from them. Thanks!

Since you are often recommending things for little guys & gals, I would highly recommend Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace Jr. Kit (available at daveramsey.com). Every week there is a new reason I am thankful for having this tool to teach my daughter, not just about money but about caring for others, ourselves, and responsibilitiy in all levels of her life. It is never too early to start teaching THAT!
I love visiting your blog and appreciate you, your work and your heart so much!
Have a great snow day! We are prepping for the next round in Maryland, supposed to be here tomorrow!
Rosslyn

Try the Dove winning movie "Faith Like Potatoes".
I've always wanted one of those personalized stamps.
THanks!

Jennifer,
Thanks for demo on the new distress inks. Love colors. Must have.
Thanks for recommending tombow adhesive. Got it at last sale at SYAO.
Personalized stamp looks so professional, nice!
Now, if you like any kind of Mexican food served with fresh flour tortillas, I would recommend buying some already rolled out ready to cook flour tortillas at Costco. When you cook them on a flat griddle, oh my, you are sure to love them.
Being that they are not yet cooked(like the usual ones, that are just needing to be heated) they come out like your mama made them. At least, how my mom used to make them. With a little bit of diced chicken and guacamole, MMM. Or maybe some scrambled eggs and little salsa. Getting hungry! Hope you enjoy! Oh, yeah, the brand is called Tortilla land. Hope you like.

Excellent video and excellent result! Love it!!!
