How-To Video: Metallic Stamping
Happy Monday, everyone.
Quick video for you this morning showing off the new Metallic Staz-On Inks. They are wonderful! They stamp so well on acetate/transparency, paper and more. This video just shows the basics. Oh, and forgive my messy hands - a day of gardening and stamping wasn't good to them...
Here is the card made with Hero Arts stamps. I know these flowers are usually white, but I added a bit of yellow to make them pop...
Love the texture of the metallic when it is clear embossed...
Supplies: Metallic Staz-On Ink; Hero Arts stamps (flourish background, text background, flowers), clear embossing powder, notecard, Grass Chalk Ink and clear card; Copic Markers (YG17, YG67, Y000, Y11, Y21, Blender); May Arts Ribbon; Doodlebug Button; Neenah white paper; Fiskars Stamp Press (the clear thing with orange feet) and Trimmer; American Crafts pop-dots.
You can get these fab inks HERE. There are four: Silver, Gold, Copper and Platinum. I can't really pick a favorite - sorry - they are all lovely. They come with a reinker as they need to be reinked often...
(No - they didn't pay me for this. I just love the product and had to share.)
You can find the Stamp Press (that makes non-wiggle stamping possible) HERE and the trimmer HERE. As for the other products I used, just click on the links in the green supply list under the card photo above.
OH! And this week the Hero Arts blog will be giving sneak peeks at all the new stamps about to be released. Check it out HERE.
Have a good Monday!
Now THAT is one gorgeous card! And thank you for the info on the StazOn Metallic ink! I'm a pushover for anything metallic or glittery and this new ink looks perfect! Thank you Jennifer! The card is really beautiful!

Great video - love the new metallic inks - will check them out. FYI - the date at the very end of the video says May 2, 2010 - I think you meant to say May 23rd. Thought you might want to fix for future reference back to the blog.

Thanks for the video. A question and a tip for you.
The question is that I just purchased the white staz on and should I re-ink that everytime or just store upside down after each use?
My tip is for the trimmer. I was having a hard time seeing the wire so I put a piece of white paper under it and took a red sharpie and colored the wire. Really pops it out. Kind of wish I did yellow, but wasn't sure how it would fare being a light color against the grey.
Thanks for all you share.

Hi Jennifer!
I LOVE the trimmer you suggested. It is the best one I've ever used. It makes card making SO much easier. And I've used the small stamp press. It is a favorite as well. I will invest in the larger one as well. It makes want all my stamps to be clings or clear!! Thanks for sharing &/or enabling us with your tools!

Wow! That is an amazing card! I am very curious how you tied that bow while also threading it through the button. I am terrible at bows! Maybe on your next video you can show the bow-tying part. :) Thanks again for great information.
Posted by: JennV | May 24, 2010 at 10:07 PM
i cheated - the ribbon is through the button and glue dotted on the back. and then onto the bow.
