Day 2 of HA/PTI Stamp Challenge

Hi!

Before getting started, just wanted to announce that the winner of the stamps from the other day is Sue W. I emailed ya.

So, now to the challenge. It is Day 2 of my Hero Arts and Papertrey Ink Challenge with Maile Belles. That girl has more talent in her little toe than most people have entirely! Today we will be using the Hero Arts Deocrated Tree and the Papertrey Ink Christmas Signature...

I personally challenged myself to make a quick card. This is tough for me sometimes. But this is what I came up with and it looks TONS better in real life. So just close your eyes and pretend it is yummy - ha. I added color to the kraft card by HEAVILY coloring with colored pencils and also adding White Enamel Accents and Glossy Accents. Love doing this...

Add Vintage Photo to the edges. It really looks wonky in these photos. Sorry...

By the way, I get a lot of questions about colored pencils. This is one department I am very passionate about. There is one brand that really sticks out: Prismacolor. They go on so smooth and really work well on many papers, including kraft. Definitely worth the investment - it is something you will use for years. (I have!)

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to head over to Maile's next for what is sure to be a stunning card.

Great card.

Jennifer I totally agree with you about Prisma color pencils .... they are the best. I have been using them for years to color all my cards.
Your holiday tree is beautiful. stamping sue

i love how you extended the tree's trunk, makes the proportions really fun <3

i use prisma color pencils too

What a cute, quick n easy card that also has some character. Love it Jen and loving this inspiring week with you & Maile. xx

WOW! That card is beautiful! Stunning colors!

I love the colors of your ornaments. Super card.
Eveline.

Gorgeous card, Jennifer! I love the pretty colors on your tree! :)

I agree Maile Belles is very talented, but you're no slouch in the talent department either. This is beautiful and to say it's better it real life — Wow. Love the white dots in the tree, such a nice little detail.

I do love this card, Jennifer. I love colored pencils more than markers and your work is beautiful! I love Maile's work too but if I were to have to choose...I just couldn't because you're both stellar card makers!

I doubt you've ever done anything wonky, Jennifer!

I love your card. And, I am so glad you used pencil crayons because I have wondering why no-one ever uses pencil crayons anymore! Prismacolors are the best; I love that you can add to your set through open stock, too.

This is a great card, Jennifer!!! I love the colours you chose, the shine on the ornaments, the fun white dot trios in the tree, and the bit of inking around the edges! There is absoloutely NO need to pretend that it's yummy - it IS!

This card is great. I too love the colors - and the simplicity makes it even better. Well done - thanks for sharing. (Glossy accents ARE ADDICTING!)

Beautiful! Love the blues, greens, and white against the kraft!

Such pretty colors. Looks so nice on the kraft paper!

Goodness, PTI and HA!! Heaven! I need to dig out my colored pencils....

Another great card. Love your coloring!!

HA! I don't have to pretend! LOVE it! :) ANd thanks for the tip on the colored pencils! ^_^

Love this card! Thanks for the reminder to use my Prismacolor pencils. Can't wait to dust them off and get coloring.

Love this Jennifer! I think everyone's colored penciles are getting neglected these days. The kraft really makes it pop. Miss ya!!!

So lovely....I really love how you modified the tree by extending the trunk, it's brilliant!

I love the colors you used, Jennifer. Nicely done!

Oh, this tree is so cute in these hues on kraft!!! BOOYAAAAAH!!!

Wonky and Jennifer in the same sentence? NEVER. :-)
Great card. I like that it's not all "traditional" Christmas colors. I gotta remember to use my colored pencils more, since I've discovered Copics, I don't use them much. Gonna go dig them out, dust them off, and color away.

Lovely card! I love the coloring on Kraft notecard and the CAS design-- it really
lets the images shine.

I LOVE working with Prismacolor! I got the huge set for Christmas back in high school for AP Art, and still use them--they are a FABulous brand, and so so so worth the investment--real high-quality stuff.

... and I love your card! Simple but still so cute :o) Especially love the little white dots--makes the tree twinkle!

I love kraft paper and I love this. Thanks for the tip about Prismacolor pencils. I have a few but think I need a set, because they color beautifully!!!!

There are times when only Prismacolor pencils will do. This is one of them. Gorgeous coloring and love the Glossy Accents shine.

Great card - love the greens & blues you used. And that PTI set is my favorite Christmas sentiment set - the hand-writing adds a lovely warm feel to cards. Thanks for sharing.

Oh my....so beautiful! What a great combo: HA & PTI. Kraft cardstock is perfect.

I love this card and since you say it looks better in person I can't even imagine how gorgeous it is! Thanks for the inspiration.

lovely card Jennifer.TFS

This is really a neat card. Love the colors you chose, too!

Wow - this is gorgeous! I really love the glossy accents over the top of your ornaments - what a great effect!

Love the great card and thanks on the tip of colored pencils.
May just have to get me some.

Man! I am really digging the kraft paper! I think you have finally convinced me to get Glossy Accents! This is awesome! TFS!

Gorgeous, gorgeous card Jennifer! I love the colours you have used on the Christmas tree and the touches of glossy accents look wonderful!

Love it!!

Lovely coloring! great card.
Sandra

Ooh! I can't totally tell it's yummy! Love how the prismacolors pop on the kraft paper. So I am very intriqued by the B&W enamel. Is it like a very opague white jel pen medium in a stickels type bottle? I would love to see it used in a video sometime. Love how you included visual picture links of everything you used too. :)

I still like using Derwent Inktense pencils, b/c of the ink like finish when used as a watercolour. Do you find yourself using the prismacolour much now that you're doing a lot of copics too?

so simple and beautiful! love that you extended the tree. love it!
